Poem 3
Title:Karen the cruel woman
I am a sick old grandmother.
All I want is for my remaining life to be happier
All my children think that i am a burden
And that thought of theirs made me sadden.

I have a daughter-in-law,by the name of Karen.
Thinking of her made me sadden.
Karen wanted to get rid of the furnitures in my bedroom,
always wishing I would meet my doom
Karen was always fussing,
saying my room is very digusting,
and I am very dirty.

Thinking that I was standing in her way,
Karen always wanted to send me away.
Seeing that I did not have much to live,
Karen hope that soon i will be dead,
so that my son will agree to the idea of selling my bed.

Commentary:
The theme of this poem is to explore how evil and sly Karen and how she tried to get rid of the sick old grandmother.Karen was a sly, vicious and heartless woman and would always think of ways to get rid of the old grandmother as she cannot stand the furnitures in her room. She had also decided what to do with the room after the old grandmother died which shows how sly and vicious Karen was.
I developed this theme in my poem by assumming that I was the old grandmother that Karen always quarelled with. The old grandmother is sick and does not have much to live but,she was sad as all of her children did not want her and daughter-in-law wanted to get rid of her even though she is sick and old.
The effect that i would  like to acheive to impact on the readers is to let others see how this old grandmother's daughter-in-law treated her .I also hope that the readers will understand how the old grandmother feel and not be like Karen and be filial to their parents as they are the ones that brought you up and that everyone only have one mother and father so,i hope that the readers will be filial to their parents when they are around or they will regret it when they are gone.
I think that I had been quite sucessful in letting the readers know how vicious and sly Karen was, especially in the second and third paragraph where I clearly described how Karen wanted to get rid of the old grandmother.

Poem 1

I am a construction worker.
i wake up early in the morning
when the sky is still dark.
i have a quick bite and i set off for work at the construction site
Putting on my helmet and safty gear,
I set off for work

Slaving at work
lifting heavy loads
using every muscle
I am given 20 minutes break
I either rest under a tree or inside the tent.
After my lunch
i continue my work

I do not rest until the clock hits 12
Although it is tough,
I have no choice as i need to support my family
I am actually given a chance to study in university
but because of my family
i had no choice but to accept the fate as being a construction worker

Poem2

I am a construction worker.
Everyday,i wake up early in the morning to go to work.
Eating only two pieces of bread,i set off for work.
Going to places which are dangerous.
Wearing my safety helmet,i start my work.

I worked from day to night,
having only a 5 minutes break,
and everytime i had my break,it is always under a tree
After the break,i start my work again.

Although this job is tiring, but i had no other choice.
I had to look after my elderly parents at home
Being the eldest child in my family,i also had the responsibility to support the whole family.
If not for the financial problems i had,i would be a polytechnic student by now.
